SpaceVac – Stud or Dud?

On that note, homeowners need to clean out their gutters if they want to avoid costly water damage caused by displaced roof runoff. But almost everybody despises the chore itself – and some have searched for ways to make this thankless task a little easier.
The latest manifestation of the desire to address the necessity of gutter cleaning? The SpaceVac.
What is a SpaceVac?
The SpaceVac is a simple concept: a power vacuum cleaner attached to a long pole that reaches high into the air. This enables the user to stand on the ground while holding the SpaceVac and suck leaves, twigs, and other debris out of gutters that are far above them. The pole is designed to reach gutters up to four stories high.

Each SpaceVac model costs between $400 and $4,000 depending on its class and power (though financing is available with approved credit), and they can also be used for high level interior cleaning as well.

Does the SpaceVac Live Up to the Hype?
So how effective is the SpaceVac at cleaning gutters?
Well, the SpaceVac website boasts several big-name companies who use its product, including Coca Cola, Rolls Royce, IKEA, Cadbury, and Carlsberg. Furthermore, the SpaceVac received the most glowing review among three similar products that were tested last year by Premises & Facilities Management Magazine. The reviewer identified SpaceVac’s quick assembly, light weight, high-quality camera, and free staff training as competitive advantages.
But while SpaceVac points out its glowing reviews on its website, there seems to be a dearth of user reviews that have been posted to cyberspace. Perhaps the reason is because SpaceVac appeals to companies more so than individuals, and these entities might not be as willing or able to post online reviews about the product. In any case, this lack of reviews makes it difficult to find unbiased input about the effectiveness of SpaceVac.
